What fees am I going to be charged for hiring a personal injury lawyer? I understand that I will hire a PI lawyer and pay him/her a contingency fee (about 1/3), but I have been told about other fees. These may include the fees for medical records, copies and other associated costs. If that is true will these "fees" be paid out of the final settlement or directly of the top of the awarded settlement?

They are typically deducted from the 2/3. Some lawyers charge less than 1/3 depending on the case.
