Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

My husband and I have been schedule to take an Examination under oath from Geico and I need to know how this works, if I can request a copy of the recorded interview that I did with the investigator. Can I take a voice activated recorder into the room with me?

An examination for what purpose?
