Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

My husband was taking a shower at a hotel where we were staying. The water turned suddenly scalding and when he took a step back, he slipped and rotated out of the tub, hitting the edge of the toilet before landing on the floor. There were no grab bars or anything to prevent this, and he required a trip to an Urgent Care facility as well as the hospital emergency room. He cracked two ribs and is still in pain two weeks later. Is it worth talking to a lawyer to obtain any costs that insurance will not cover, as well as the cost of the hotel? The incident happened in VA but we live in NC so I provided the zip code of the hotel.

Your husband should arrange to consult with a Virginia attorney who handles

personal injury claims as to the best way for him to proceed

under the facts of the situation as described.

He could, of course, attempt to settle the matter on his own without

the assistance of counsel but chances are he would be "lowballed" by

the hotel in any offer it made to settle the matter.
