Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

In preparing a demand letter, research indicates that it is customary to ask for a multiple of ones medical expenses. Does the medical expenses amount that will be multiplied include all medical expenses or just the out-of-pocket portion?

Thanks, Paul

All expenses. The party in the wrong is not entitled to benefit from your insurance.

I dont think any insurer uses a multiplier to settle cases. You are entitled to recover ALL medical expenses incurred and pain and suffering. If you are sending a "demand letter" choose a number that will satisfy you and allow room for negotiation.
