Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

If I request mediation to resolve a personal injury claim for injuries suffered, and the insurance company is in another state, which state do we meet in? Do I have to pay the costs of getting them to come to my state (where the accident happened), or am I permitted to get them to pay my costs to go to their state where the adjustor works? Or do we split everything re all travel costs 50/50? and, if so, how do I make sure they travel as cheaply as possible?

Thanks!

Before thinking about traveling to this other state (which should not be necessary in the age of the Internet and conference calling) you should check to determine whether this mediation might be conducted by way of electronic media.
