Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Adding wife to deed

This was husband's homr brfor the msrraige. I am making improvements, but want it J/rosurv., not just count on an inheritance.

Plus, it's the first time I haven't actually owned real state.

I'd feel much more sercure with my name on th deed as joint w/right of survivorship. His dad hold the note.

What do we need to file/ Deed of gift? Or just rerecord as jtwrs?

Re: Adding wife to deed

You could do a deed of gift from H to H & W, JTWROS. A transfer to H & W, tenants by the entirety, may be of aditional protection. You might want to consult with an attorney before executing a deed.
