Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

foreclosure purchase

My landlord filed for bankruptcy. I have been renting her house for 3 years. She is surrendering it in the bankruptcy. I want to buy the house before it goes to auction. Do I approach the bank who is on the deed with an offer, or the trustee of bankruptcy?

I will attend the bankruptcy meeting because I was listed as a creditor.

Re: foreclosure purchase

If the house is included in the bankruptcy estate,

only the trustee would have the authority to authorize its sale and disposition of the resultant proceeds among the named creditors.
