judgements

my father in law took me and my husband to court for money we owed him. he got a judgement against us and now has put an abstract of judgement on our home.we received a letter from him today threating to force us to sell our home for his money can he do that?

No, he could not force you yourselves to sell your home, but if you're both named as judgment debtors

in the abstract, it's possible that your home could be auctioned by the local sheriff's department in order to satisfy the judgment.
