i have a roommate that walked out without paying his share of rent this month, we are both on the papers for the apartment (we were on a month-to-month basis). what is the best way i can handle this situation with the least amount of damages to my credit (or pocket).
Pay the roommate's share and then sue him in small claims court for reimbursement (and then inform the landlord that you will need to modify the month to month lease to reflect you as the only tenant).
