Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

lawyer did not show up

3 months ago I retained a lawyer for my daughter & paid in full, $2000. She met with him 2 days ago to go over the details & to confirm the date & time.

This morning we were there @ 8:45 - the docket was for 9am.

The judge asked repeatedly if they had hear from our lawyer - he put my daughter at the end of his list but still no lawyer. The judge continued it for another month.

We left the building, callled his office, his assistant said he was there. We went back into the building & waited.....he entered the building @ 9:35, very surprised that they got to her so early, claiming he had to drop his car off.

I feel this was very unprofessional & would like to know if I have any rights as far getting our money back. I am so angry right now & don't know what I should do.

Re: lawyer did not show up

Well, you might want to consider writing a letter to the lawyer and make whatever demands that you feel are reasonable regarding a refund of your advance fee and include notice to this less than punctual counsel that you now seek his or her withdrawal from the case.
