Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

Speeding Ticket- first ever

I received a speeding ticket, 77/60 mph driving down rt. 29 to get to a doctor's appt in time. I never speed, have a clean driving record, the only ticket I have ever received was an HOV violation 3 years ago. I turn 21 in 6 days. Is it worth it to go to court or the prosecutor to try to get the ticket reduced? Or to take a traffic school course online? Or should I just pay the ticket and let it be. I should come out even regarding points from my safe driving points.

Re: Speeding Ticket- first ever

If you go to court, you may be able to get the speeding charge reduced by 8 mph or so(in return for your plea of guilty)which should result in a smaller fine and fewer points against your driving record.
