Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

traffic tickets

I was recently at fault in car accident(at least over 1000 in damage was done) and was given a ticket for improper lane change.i never drive that car since ive been in the process of selling the viehicle. i am however covered under my girlfriends insurance but only on her car.which i knew. so i was also given a ticket for driving withoout insurance, expired state inspection, and plates(registration)since like i said i never drive that car. the biggest problem iam now facing is driving on a suspended liscence. apparently , when the dmv finds out you don't have insurance on a vehicle they can suspend your liscense, which they did 5 days prior to my ticket.

i go to court 2morrow so if there is anything you could think of that i could say to the judge it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: traffic tickets

Driving while suspended is a jailable offense in the Commonwealth. You would, therefore,(if going to court tomorrow) be well advised to ask the judge for a continuance in your case to allow you time to hire a competent defense counsel to represent you on these various charges or, if you cannot afford to retain such on your own, then you should ask the court to appoint one for you.
