Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

deeding property with a tax lien

My sister left in her will real estate with liens to 4 siblings. Can we title the property in our names without paying off the liens? If so, when do have to pay the liens?

Re: deeding property with a tax lien

You (the four siblings) will have to pay off the liens before the property is sold. (The proceeds from the sale can be used to satisfy the liens.)
