Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

My sister\'s husband passed away three weeks ago. They were married to him for almost seven years. About three years ago they bought a house jointly with his mother. Only the mother & husband\'s names were put on the deed along with \"survivor\". The will that her husband left was written prior to the marriage and my sister was not mentioned in the will. Everything was left to his two children from a prior marriage (they had no children together). My sister did work during the marriage and contributed to the household.A few days after her husband\'s death his children and mother forced her from the home and said that she is not entitled to anything from his estate. Is this possible? What is she entitled to? (They reside in Bedford County Virginia)

Cary Moseley Law Office of Cary Powell Moseley, PLLC

She should consult an attorney as soon as possible. The attorney will need to review the situation with her, review the will and the deed, and then advise her accordingly, etc. Good luck.
