Legal Question in Workers Comp in Virginia

workers Compensation

I have a claim with the WC in VA I worked for the Dept of Forestry when I was injured. I do not feel they have offered a fair enough settlement. I have been told there was nothing I coulddo because I worked for the state and thats what I have to accept. Is that correct?

Re: workers Compensation

In my experience, the settlement offers from the government are often not so great and very "take it or leave it."

As a Virginia Workers Compensation Lawyer for 35 years, I can unfortunately tell you the State of Virignia does not give fair market value for a settlement. Due to budgetary constraints, the State is unable to pay a large lump sum for future benefits.
