Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Washington

My Driver's License

I am unable to get my drivers license back because of a 2,500.00 lawsuit, and about 3,000.00 in other legal fines. If I had a license i could get a job to pay this off. Is there a program in the state of WA that I can apply for where I can lump all of this together and pay a small payment each month and then get my license. I am a certified tradesman and I need a license to go to work. I am in a real catch -22 situation and it sucks. I am frustrated and I really need some help here. I have talked to WA Dol and they have been no help. They just say ''pay the fines and judgment and I can get my license back.'' That's kind of hard to do with no job. Let me know please. Thanks.

Re: My Driver's License

You will have to work out payment agreements with the individual courts and plaintiff to whom you owe money to get them to lift the holds on your license. Also, you may wish to speak to a bankruptcy attorney. Although you cannot get out of the court fines I believe you can have the collections portion removed and have them taken out of default status so they are not holding up your license. Also, it may get ride of the judgment (lawsuit) against you. David Stirbis in Tacoma does Bankruptcy. Contact me directly if you need informatio on how to contact him.
