my mother in law

my mother in law told me and my wife to move because i refused to pay the cable bill because i said i cant afford it so dont hook it up they live of section 8 and charge me 500 a month plus power and water when they only get charged 200 her dad is wanted and not suppose to be there anyway well anyway we moved out two weeks into there agreement and my 30 days is not up till 2/16/08 but now they said i can not get my stuff all my furnature ect. unless i give them 700 dollers might i add they are meth addicts what can i do and can i su.

You can sue. Depending on the value of your things you might might be able to sue in small claims court which avoids the cost of a laywer. The difficult part will be establishing the value of your things--unless you happen to keep receipts for charge everything on credit cards. It may be best to pay them the $700, get your things, and then sue them for the $700 back, along with the rent. You need to sit down with a landlord/tenant attorney to go over these details.
