Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Washington

I bought a car 7 months ago from a dealership. Today I received a letter from them stating that they gave me too much money for my trade-in warranty refund, and that I owe them $382.00. Can they do that?

I would contact them and ask them whether your not paying them will affect your warranty agreement with the warranty company. I doubt it would.

Your not paying them what they ask does not affect title to your vehicle; you keep that title.

The financing that you got for your vehicle (if any) was already entered into among yourself and the lender / bank, so not paying the $382 would not affect that.

All the dealership could do is sue you for $382, I believe, and they could only have a case by showing a contract that proves you owe them the money.
