1st degree theft
if someone is awaiting trial for theft and they have been on probation in the past for theft how long will the sentence be if charged and is there a possibility that it could be dropped
Re: 1st degree theft
There are many factors that go into sentencing such that it is difficult to predict. You should really sit down with your attorney and go over the details. There is a standard range on a theft 1, which will be affected by what prior felonies you may have had. However, there are many aggrevating and mitigating factors to consider. The most immediate are the facts of this case itself. How much was taken? Was it taken from the elderly? Was there some particularly sophisticated or deceitful method used in the theft? What do you do otherwise? Do you spend your time giving your time for free to your church? Do you volunteer your time assisting developmentally delayed children? Sit down with your lawyer.
