Re: consentual sex with a minor

It depends on many factors, facts and circumstances. Was this woman his teacher? Or a coach or counselor? If she was just an acquaintenance, probably not if he was having sex after he turned 16 years old. The age of consent in Washington is 16 when minors can consent to certain acts, including sexual intercourse. Was she married? Was your son her boyfriend or just a sex partner? Was there aN ONGOING ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP? hOW MUCH OLDER WAS SHE THAN YOUR SON? Most of these factors would show that there is probably no basis for any legal action, especially in light of the fact thatyour son is now of legal age and no longer a minor and he has full control over his rights and obligations under the law. Good Luck!
