would a spouse have any responsibilty for the other one owning a gun

You have not stated whether you are concerned with civil liability for injury somehow related to a firearm or for culpability in connection with an unlawful firearm (or possession of a lawful firearm by a prohibited spouse).

I am assuming you mean can you be charged with unlawful possession of a firearm because your wife owns one (or vice versa). You cannot knowingly remain reside in a dwelling where you can access a firearm. If she has one and you know about it...trouble.
