How do you obtain a new public defender,when the one you have basically is working for the prosecutor?

You can tell your public defender that you feel you cannot work with or trust them and the office could possibly re-appoint someone else to assist you. But public defenders are essentially court appointed, so if the office refuses to replace your present attorney, you may have to appear in court and explain what the problem is.
