warrents
My sister has filed charges against my brother because he stole her credit card and used it for online gambling, and also stole her checkbook and wrote over 12 forged checks. My sister belieaves there to be a warrent out for his arrest, if we invite him over for Christmas, are we harboring a criminal? Would this hurt my sisters case against him in any way?
Re: warrents
In WA it is called "Rendering Criminal Assistance." You would not be guilty of this for inviting him over for Christmas. It will not harm your sister's case either. On the other hand, it may be a convenient time for your sister to have the warrant served by informing the police he's there. So, you'll need to make a judgment call as to your sister's character.
Merry Christmas!
