Legal Question in Education Law in Washington

Educational Jurisdiction

This may sound a little ignorant, but in this subject that is the word to describe me. I know nothing about the law. I was wondering if it was legal to assign homework for over summer break. The question may sound like I'm trying to get out of something but, actually, I'm trying to get the teachers to assign such a project to keep our education going even when we're not in the class room. Please help me understand if I even have a remote chance of getting this to actually happen, or not.

Re: Educational Jurisdiction

It's not a matter of legality, but of school policy. Grades have to be reported at the end of the school year, --they can't be held up by summer assignments.

Rather than trying to get the teacher to assign more work, why don't you just do more work on your own? You can probably find a teacher to grade it for you, if you feel the needd to be graded.
