Legal Question in Elder Law in Washington

Safety for eldely Father!

My 90 year old father has been living alone, but is in very poor health & has now fallen 3 times in his home. The last time he needed 12 stitches in his head & was told by his doctor that he could not go home without 24 hour care. He is insisting on going home & plans to leave the hospital tomorrow. He does not have the money to pay for 24 hour care. My Sister & I do not have Power of Attorney, it has been given to his attorney & next door neighbor. We can't even have a key to the house! We have been great daughters as everyone will attest to. We are concerned about his safety. Is there anything we can do to make sure he is taken care of properly & in a safe environment? Do we have any legal recourse or should we let him just go home & fall again & perhaps really hurt himself? Thankyou

Re: Safety for eldely Father!

You can petition for guardianship. We regularly handle matters like that if you have further questions.
