Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Child support after 18

I wanted to know how long you have to file a modification order on child support if a) the child is already 18. b) child is still in high school.

Is it too late to modify an order if I didn't do it before he turned 18? It has been 6 mo's since his birthday and I have received no support during that time.

Re: Child support after 18

Depending on what the Order of Support says about the cutoff of support (graduation or age or other criteria) is what will control on whether your support order is still in effect and can be modified. You will have to read the order.
