Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Say that individuals A and B are married. Individual A's office resides in his parents' house, where individual B is not welcome. Individual B enters the house one day through an unlocked door (although she is unwelcome in the house), searches individual A's possesion's without his consent, and takes important documents. Has a crime been committed, or does spousal right give Individual B permission to enter and take the information? If not, does circumstances change if the door is locked but Individual B uses a key that is unknowingly copied?

Theoretically, it appears to meet the requirements for residential burglary - a class A felony. Practically, I doubt anyone in law enforcement cares enough to investigate it much. If you think you can prove it well you could consider bringing it up at the disso if it has some bearing on that proceeding. Mostly, you're justifiably upset about it with no practical recourse is my thought. Sorry. Good luck to you.
