Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Signing over parental rights. Child support is through Washington State , the father lives in Washington state and I now live in Oregon. He is planning on turning over his rights and my husband will be adopting my son. What is needed in order to get that started.

If you had a paternity court case or divorce, you can use that as the vehicle to file a motion to terminate parental relationship. The father will need to do an affidavit releasing his rights and your husband will have to do an affidavit stating his intent to adopt.
