My daughter was sick two weeks ago and I staid at home with her. I called in sick once this year. The company I work for wants to give me a write-up. They have a policy that says after you call in sick once

in six months you have to have a docters excuse. Do I have any rights with the family leave act or anything else. I have worked for this company for 23 years and never been writtin up. I'm Not very happy about this since other people are getting away wit alot more

You also may need to consider whether you have a discrimination claim. If others are getting treated differently, then you need to explore that as well.

My website, www.memphisemploymentlawyer.net, discusses many of your federal employment rights, including eligibility requirements for the FMLA. However, you may also have rights that are protected by your own state's laws. To understand those rights, you need to consult with an attorney in your own state. An excellent resource to locate those attorneys is www.nela.org.
