Spouse as Joint Debtor

Is the spouse of a judgment debtor responsible for a judgment debt if the judgment debtor has filed chapter 7 as a sole debtor? I believe California and Washington both are community property states.

Spouse as Joint Debtor

The general rule would be yes if the debt was a community property debt. If it was a separate debt based solely on separate properety you might have an arguement against it. However, in most case you are liable and may need to file your own bk.
