Legal Question in Immigration Law in Washington

I was allocated H1B visa in the Sep-2007. But i entered in US in Oct-2008 since there was delay in my employer calling me in US.

My question is:

1. In Sep-2010 have i completed 3 years of total of 6 year limit(on H1b visa) or 2 since i arrived one year late in US? I mean, does the 6 year limit start from the day of arrival in US.
