Legal Question in Immigration Law in Washington

H1B need to be activated to be effective?

I am on AOS staus and when I started working with the company, I had EAD. Later the company filed H1B for me l and it's been approved on (valid from Dec 2009-nov 2012). There is no I-94 card on the approving notice (I-797B). Instead there is a note of "The alen my use this protion when applyig for a visa .. or if no visa required, applying for admission to U.S.".

Now my EAD almost expired, do I need to renew EAD or I can use this H1 to continue work for the same company? Do I need to active H1B for me to continue working in the company?

I am a Cananidan citizen. I do not remeber my friends need to active H1b when they started working for the organizations using H1b.

Please advice what I should do: renew EAD, activate H1B or do nothing?

Thank you very much!

Hello,

Its possible your application was filed after your status expired so they did not give you a change of status.
