Legal Question in Immigration Law in Washington

No I-94

I entered the US from Canada by car so my passport did not get stamped and I did not get an I-94. (although I was interviewed on entry so my entry will be on record at the boarder). My boyfriend of 3 years and I have decided to get married. Do I need to do anything regarding an I-94?

Re: No I-94

Assuming you are Canadian, the I-94 should not be necessary to file an adjustment of status.

Re: No I-94

If you are a Canadian citizen, you do not need a visa, thus an I-94 at the border, so during the adjustment of status process (Forms I-130, I-485 etc.), the officer will ask you if you entered the U.S. at a regular port of entry (the border). That entry should be sufficient to allow you to adjust your status to that of U.S. citizen, if you are otherwise not inadmissible due to crimes, health, terrorist, nazi etc.. see http://immigrationflowchart.com (a free service) end696 for DOS site regarding exceptions to Canadians entering the U.S. without a visa.
