Legal Question in International Law in Washington

criminal record background searches

If I get past felonies and/or misdemeanors either 'expunged', or 'sealed' who will that information still be accessible to (without a court order)? Will the 'sealed' or 'expunged' listings still be there for the Canadian officials ?(again, meaning 'without a court order)

Re: criminal record background searches

Yes because the state's agreement to expunge is not enforcable with our federal government. The Canadians use the FBI's information and your info is still there.

Remember that next time you vote for a Congressman who supported the (un)Patriot Act.
