Legal Question in Employment Law in Washington

I was approved for short term leave 2 weeks July 2 through July 16 to care for my mom with ovarian cancer. My job status was part time changing to full time because of the management changes I work as an assistant property manager. During my leave of absence the corporation I worked for gave my full time position to a new hire not temproray but permenantly. I then was told that the position that I was in will definitely be going away the end of June and they are looking for a position for me I was given a part time position 15 hours a week less than what was offered when I started with the company. What are the laws to protect me? What can I do in this situation? It doesn't feel right? Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother and I hope she's doing better.

The Family Medical Leave Act might provide some protection for you if your employer has 50 or more employees within 75 miles and if you have worked at least 1250 hours in the last 12 months. If so, you might want to see an attorney.
