Legal Question in Employment Law in Washington

The client refusing to pay

Dear Sirs,

I have an agreement with translation service. Accroding to the agreement I have to translate some documents for them and they have to pay me. I received the E-signature from the translation agency that states my service will be paid.

I have done my part and sent the work to them. But, they do not want to pay saing that the client who requested translation are upset about the result. I asked what exactly the client is upset about, but there were no answers. They start ignoring my calls and emails. I had to spend more than 48 hours to have the work done, but I still have not been paid.

My question is what I can do to get my money?

Can I file the small claim court?

Can I file the claim in the court in my residence, becasue the agency's address in the different state?

Thank you for you time

If you have any legal advices about my situation I would be appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Andrey

Re: The client refusing to pay

Start with the Washington State Dept of Labor and Industries. They may be able to help you collect, and their services are free. If they cannot help you, try small claims court. Unless you went to the state where the agency is to sign the contract, you can go ahead and file in small claims court in the county where you live.
