Legal Question in Employment Law in Washington

last pay check

Had worked for company 13 years and resigned on 1/30. Still didn't get pay as of 2/22/08.

Looking for sick day pay, two weeks pay (had two weeks unused vacation left). sent resignation letter on evening of 1/31 as two week notices. Since two week vacation days left instead of staying for two week left on 2/1. Never were asked to stay by manager. what I can do to get my final paycheck ?

Re: last pay check

I assume your employer has a stated policy of paying unused vacation and sick pay. They are not required to do so otherwise.

First step might be to write a polite letter to your employer along the lines of, "I notice that you have not sent my final paycheck. Just to confirm, I show $XX due me for unused vacation, etc. My current address is still [insert address here.]"

If that doesn't work, contact the Dept of Labor & Industries.
