Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Washington

Desperately need advice

I had a bilateral tubal ligation Mar06 (I am active duty military and had it done at a Naval Hospital). I went to my GYn doc Oct 5 07 and she told me after reviewing my ''brief'' record that it was interesting that they had difficulties during my surgery and that it seemed that they had another procedure done (scalpped which i did not agree on) and had difficulties on the other tube, unsure whether they had the ''ring'' in place correctly or not. Well I've been having really tender breasts, sorry it leads to the conclusion'' so since I'm a single mom of two already kinda suspected what that meant. Well BINGO I''M PREGNANT. I didn't use any b-control because I had a bilat. But now I'm pregnant. This is not right. Please help

No, you're right, what happened sure is NOT right. It sounds like you may have a claim. They not only botched the procedure, but then failed to TELL you it was botched, when they apparently knew something had gone awry.

You may well be entitled to damages for this. A great deal depends on what happens with your pregnancy, of course.

If you'd like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me or my Associate, Dylan Lawrence, at our Oregon office. You should, in any event, be represented by a lawyer for a claim like this. If we can't help you ourselves, we may be able to refer you to a lawyer we trust. FYI, this is the sort of case ordinarily handled on a contingecy fee, which is just a percentage of the recovery.

Best wishes,

-- Sam
