Legal Question in Military Law in Washington

Coast Guard NJP

I have a question. I was recently put on report for an offense, and the alleged date of the offense does not match the date that the offense actually happened. The actual event happened a few days before the date on the report. With NJP, is this grounds to have it dropped?

No.

"On or about [the date]" is sufficient both at NJP and at court-martial, under most circumstances. This would be different if you could establish you weren't on fair notice of the actual offense and date.
