Re: attorney lien

I have insufficient information to properly answer your question. Was the case completed by either settlement or trial? Was the attorney discharged (fired) by the client prior to the case being completed? Was there a written contingent fee agreement? Normally, a lien is asserted based upon either the terms of the written contingent fee agreement as the original amount of the contingent fee or as an amount of hourly rate times the number of hours spent on the case. Talk to your local bar association about contingent fees and attorney's liens.
