Legal Question in Personal Injury in Washington

Attorney didn't pay all of subrogation owed

We hired an attorney because we were in four auto collisions in 12 months (1998-99), none were our fault. We settled two years ago (Sept. 2003).

Now we received notice of being sent to collections for almost $6,000 because our attorney apparently failed to make full payment to the insurance company. What are our options to get this corrected? The attorney seems to have disappeared.

You'll need to contact the Washington State Bar Association and file a complaint against that attorney. After making the complaint you'll want to file an application with the Lawyer's Fund for Client Protection through the Bar Association for payment of the $6000.00 that your attorney has apparently stolen.
