Legal Question in Personal Injury in Washington

Identity theft

While working on a job site,a coworker removed my personal information from a unsecured file cabinet. He took this information and used it to assume my identity. The company knew that the file cabinet was unsecured.

I was informed that company was liable and to research the tort laws for information about negligence. What are my options and how do I proceed in in this situation?
