Re: settlement

Both of my colleagues are correct. There are many variables in any case thatwill affect how much a case is worth. No one who is responsible will give you a number based upon a simple description of an injury. Call some lawyers and get some info as to what is involved with getting an attorney to work on your case.

Re: settlement

You know, there really is NO magic formula to determine the value of most injuries. In your case, you don't give me some of the important variables that help me analyze value. These include liability (ie, is fault clear? Is it a motor vehicle wreck with insurance, or a personal claim against someone?), total medical bills, amount of wage loss, was it surgical or not, and MOST of all: What exactly is WRONG with your leg? How long did it take to heal, and does your doctor expect any complications down the line? IS it a PERMANENT injury of some sort?

As you can see, with all these variables, you really ought to consult with any competent personal injury lawyer. Virtually ALL of us give totally FREE in-person consultations, without any commitment, so go talk to some lawyers! You'll probably end up with more in your pocket with a lawyer, even after the attorney fees.

Good luck!

Re: settlement

I agree with Mr. Hochberg -- there really are countless variables involved that you may have never thought of while valuing your injury. You will also find that at times insurance companies attempt to settle "early" with a victim for fear that the victim does obtain the services of a personal injury attorney who can obtain a much larger settlement amount.
