You need to take your daughter seriously, of course.

But the first step is for you to talk with your husband. Perhaps all three of you should talk at a family meeting. If this is true (which it probably is), your husband needs counseling from someone who specializes in this area. If he is talking with your daughter in this inappropriate manner, there may be other things he's doing or thinking about.

As far as recording goes, any recording cannot not be used in court. Plus, this is a passive approach; talking and communicating about this family problem is direct.

If for any reason your husband is violent, or you are otherwise afraid of him, I suggest you immediately contact your local women's shelter (check the Yellow Pages under community services, or call your local YWCA). You can also contact Adult Protective Services at 1.800.ENDHARM.

If your husband never acted this way before, there is some possibility that he could be having a mental or physical problem, such as early onset dementia or a brain tumor.
