Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Washington

"In Washington State, if a male is 21 year old and has sex with a 16 year old female, is it still considered statutory rape in the state of Washington since the legal age of consent for Washington is 16? And what could happen to him?"

This is a VERY tricky area of the law. Yes, 16 is the age of consent. But there are acts that are still illegal between a 16 year old and someone 3 years or more older. Communication with a 16 year old for an immoral (sexual) purpose is against the law. Misdemeanor, but requiring registration as a sex offender. Photographing her, or possession of photos of her, in a sexual context is a felony sex offense. Carries prison time and registration as a sex offender.

There is absolutely nothing good that can come of a relationship between a minor and a 21 year old. Any relationship of that nature exposes the 21 year old to a variety of legal problems. She is too young to make mature decisions, and that is why she is too young to give legal consent for acts that would be legal between adults.
