Legal Question in Traffic Law in Washington

I -90 regulations

traveling down a snowy I-90 i turned onto exit 54 but a snow plow was on the right and one was coming toward me on the left completely blocking the exit. I hit my brakes and slid 25-30ft into the back of an explorer and an snowbank, totalying my 4WD vehicle.

Is the dot at falt for completely blocking the exit without warning?

Re: I -90 regulations

Obviously, I cannot offer you specific legal advice over the internet. What I can tell you is that generally the driver who rear ends another car is usually held to be the at fault driver. This is because the person traveling behind someone has to use reasonable care in operating his/her vehicle considering all of the circumstances. In this case, the argument is that it was snowing and you should have been going slow enough for road conditions to allow time to stop for the car ahead of you (the snowplow). From your point of view, you can argue that the snow plow was blocking your roadway and therefore, that driver should be held at least partially responsible. You should never admit liability. If you have insurance, your insurance company will hire an attorney for you if liability is contested.
