Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Washington

Consultaion Fees

My S.O. & I went in for a consultaion re wills. The attny we saw took an immediate dislike for me for some reason. He said I didn't need a will as I have no real prop. & I should just inform my kids now of how I want my personal ''crap'' disposed of, etc. In the last five min. of our time, my S.o. asked him about an insurance issue re her ex's employment ins. He suggested she speak with her divorce att. as he would know more. I was NOT told of any fees, but we both rec'd bill of $122. & she also got a bill for $158. for the question re insurance. Am I just S.O.L.? Can he just charge whatever he wants after the fact, when I was never informed before hand what I would have to pay? We feel violated and hurt, as we don't have much money. I went in & discussed this with his assistant, but was told 'he thinks it's fair.' What else can I do? This is very upsetting. Thank you.

Re: Consultaion Fees

I don't think this is a Probate, Trust, Wills & Estates question.
