my fathers inheritence from his mother passed

my father just passed 2,1/2 years ago every year dad and his 2 sister get a gift come from a cd about $22,000.00 tax free since my father passed the sister said this is the last gift, my father told me there was a enormous amount there , i live in washinton, and my dad mom live in walla walla how do i go about finding out how much or the will intital my father to have , thank you.

You can look up the phone numbers for the Walla Walla court at courts dot wa dot gov. Call the clerk; ask if a probate has been opened for your father.

2 1/2 years is a fairly long time to wait; perhaps there is a trust instrument in which case there might not be a probate, but it is worth some research time.

Some gifts are passed along to the decedent's heirs, some are not. I can't tell from what you said, but taking legal advice from your aunt is not a good idea.

The Bar association in Walla Walla can provide you a referral to a local attorney who does probates and estates if necessary.
