What types of forms do I need from bank concerning power of attorney

Need to know what type of form I need request and fill out to be bale to access my mothers checking account and other bank accounts. She will sign whatever fom needs to be signed but we--name removed--t know exactly what they are. My mother is suffering froma terminal cancer and wishes that I be put on her checking account and also her ''Line of Credit'' account. Someone told me that their is a preferred form other then a ''Power of Attorney'' form that I need to request from the bank. Another question......will the bank give to my mother upon request a Quick Deed to her home so that she can quick deed the home to me.....???

You and your mother may have to sign a new signature card so that your name is on the account. Talk to the bank about this. As to the quit claim deed, the bank cannot help you with that but a lawyer can. I woul dbe happy to answer your questions.

Your mother should probably execute both a Power of Attorney over finances and a Health Care Power of Attorney. She should also call the bank and ask them if they have a specific power of attorney form or specific language they like to see in a power of attorney. Probably not required but makes dealing with the bank a little easier. She should choose an attorney in fact for the documents that she trusts completely because that individual will have a great deal of power over her affairs.
