Legal Question in Family Law in West Virginia

Adoption

My ex wife is tring to have her new husband adopt my son. I have received a summons to a hearing for this. I was just released from prison and am tring to get on my feet. I have not been able to see my son because my ex wife took my right's away from me while in prison. What do I need to do to not allow her new husband from adopting my son?

Re: Adoption

You need to show up and contest it. If she terminated your parental rights via court order while you were in prison, you need to immediately move to "set aside" that order. You need to re-establish contact with your son and seek visitation orders. Time is against you, act immediately.
